Sources inside the National Geographic Institute of Oceanographic Anomalies confirmed today that a mysterious sea monster attacked and sunk a small luxury cruise ship 120 kilometers off the coast of Java. Under the strict condition of anonymity, an insider said there were distress signals received by a nearby freighter.
Through expert journalism and a few extra dollars, The Wise Tourist has learned that the freighter Voyager picked up the distress calls. We caught up to Armand Diego, Captain of the freighter Voyager, in a remote village on the island of Maritus. Located east of Madagascar, Maritus has long been a hideout for wayward men and the women who adore them. At first he refused to discuss the fate of the luxury cruise ship but our persistence, our keen persuasive techniques proved to overpower his mighty resolve to silence.
Captain Diego clearly was hiding the truth about the disastrous evening when the sea creature attacked what is believed to be the luxury cruise ship Comoros. We pressed for details of the radio signal in hopes of delivering this high impact story for the world to see. Instances of attacks by sea creatures on cruise lines are not unheard of. In fact, some experts agree that the powerful cruise lines themselves are stifling reports that the attacks on the high seas are occurring much more frequently than this reporter suspected.
“We didn’t receive a radio distress call. The crew of the Voyager saw the attack with our own eyes. We heard the screams. We heard to ferocious roar of the gigantic serpent. This monster of the deep is no fairytale. It is a living, breathing creature that destroyed an 80 ton ship in less than an hour. It was like a scene right out of “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea”. I wanted to help the passengers aboard the Comoros but the lives of my crew and the precious cargo of the Voyager are my primary concern. I know of no survivors. How could there be?”
Reporters at The Wise Tourist have been refused access to certain government documents and video that may unearth the secret to these mysterious sea monster sightings. We will continue, without rest, without fear of the unknown, until the truth is revealed. It is our duty to our readers. It is our duty to humankind.
