Sometimes it’s stressful picking the “perfect” holiday hotel to stay in when planning a vacation. There is so much information available about so many different hotels in so many locations. It is confusing. You want to enjoy your destination and the hotel you choose is a big part of that.Let’s look at some tips for finding a suitable hotel for you and your travel partners, friends or family.
Booking Online
Compare multiple booking websites when researching your holiday hotel options. Sites such as Travelocity, Expedia and Hotwire all have some similarities but also some differences. Take a look at the reviews of the hotel by people that have actually been there. You don’t need to write off a hotel because one person gave it a horrible review. Get a consensus by reading several reviews from different sites.
Location, location, location
Check out the location of the hotel for access to things that you want to be doing while you are on your trip. This may include beaches, shopping, restaurants, city center, etc. How does the location look and feel based on the information you can gather. The hotel should not be in a “shady” part of town but a spot that you would enjoy spending time in.
Amenities
What amenities and services do you want for your vacation stay? Do you want a heated or non-heated pool, jacuzzi, games room, lounge and bar? Do you need late night room service or special laundry services? How well is the front desk staff able to serve you in connecting you with local activities and attractions?
Look for this information in the hotel write-ups, reader reviews and even by studying the available photos. Importantly, send an email to the hotel or call them by phone to ask questions. Make sure you call the front desk directly, not a booking service.
Hopefully, these travel tips will assist you to find a hotel that will be enjoyable for your next vacation.
